Lineup Released for Gritty Rock Live! U.S. Tour
The ladies of Gritty In Pink have officially hit the road for their virtual livestream tour across the United States! After going through all the audition tapes, the bands were chosen, and the lineup released earlier this week. The tour kicked off in New York City July 7 and will be airing the concert series via Instagram for the next seven weeks, every Tuesday at 7 p.m. PST. Gritty Rock Live! is coming to Denver on August 11, so don’t forget to mark it on your calendars.
“We are so excited to announce the awesome lineup and partners for our Gritty Rocks Live Virtual Tour!” says Gritty in Pink founder Shira Yevin. “With the ongoing support for our GRL weekly livestream, our team thought this was a fun way to bring the community vibes of Gritty in Pink cross-country and expand our female-powered network.”
The tour is being hosted by Vans Warped Tour legends Shiragirl, the perfect, iconic, all-girl punk group to bring empowered, female artists together. Each night of shows will also feature a charity fundraiser, sponsored giveaways, intimate performances, artist interviews, and audience engagement. Not only is Gritty In Pink bringing local, female bands and their music to homes across America, but they are using their platform to help support those in the music industry. Their goal is to give back to communities who are still struggling during this economic downturn and pandemic.
For anyone interested in donating, Gritty In Pink is partnered several different charitable organizations: Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, benefitting female artists who facing challenging times due to COVID; Headcount, which focuses on driving voter registration through the power of music; and ACLU, fighting for civil rights, in a pivotal moment in history. The tour is also being sponsored by several businesses, such as female/Black-owned business Bootypacks, that have helped to create custom Gritty In Pink masks. “One advantage of going digital has been the ability to include artists from all locations. We feel, now more than ever, the country needs to come together, and this is an awesome opportunity to unite and connect female artists of all genres and backgrounds. Since we can’t tour the country due to the pandemic, this is the next best way to see America this summer!”says Yevin.
