LGBTQ+ Artist fknsyd Releases Haunting New Single ‘Apparitions’

fknsyd

LGBTQ+ artist fknsyd releases new single, “Apparations,” an ethereal combination of alternative and electronic genres.

“Apparitions” pulls together many themes of fknsyd (also known as Sydney Fisher)’s work with a mixture of edgy, alternative tones and paranormal motifs that can be found throughout her catalog. Echoing vocals, hypnotizing guitar riffs, and grungy baselines twist and combine into one powerful song as fknsyd leads the listener on an enthralling journey into the occult.

The song describes visits from ghosts in which the narrator is haunted by images that leave them feeling paranoid and insane. Fknsyd describes herself as being “softly obsessed with the paranormal, and things of that nature as far back as (she) can remember, so this is maybe just a reflection of those interests.”

She has collaborated with many names in the electronic music scene such as RL Grime, SLANDER, Shadient, TDJ, and more.

Fknsyd’s been one to look out for in the alternative and electronic music scenes for a while, with Dancing Astronaut labeling her one of their Artists to Watch in 2022. She has definitely lived up to, and exceeded the expectations, and watching eyes.

This is fknsyd’s first solo release since her 2023 album Taste.test, and her first solo release with HypnoVizon Records. Her work in the meantime has been in partnership with her fiancé and fellow musician Rezz, also known as Isabelle Rezazaduh. Rezz owns HypnoVizion Records and stated that she plans to use the record label to produce all sorts of music “from mid-tempo to slow, trippy type of dubstep, anything ~psychedelic~ feeling.” Other groups that work with HypnoVizion Records include New Orleans duo sfam, isqa (an alternate name for Jordan Orcaz from No Mana), Australian producer EDDIE, Digital Ethos (also known as Charlie Quigley), and more musicians across all genres, but mainly house music.
