LGBT groups send letter to Obama regarding religious exemption
The Human Rights Campaign, ACLU, Lamda Legal, and many more LGBT organizations signed on to a letter to President Obama, discouraging the religious exemption language currently included in ENDA, and encouraging Obama to leave such language out of the executive order for LGBT workplace discrimination.
The letter says, “We urge you to act to prohibit any discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or religion with taxpayer funds by all federal contractors, including religiously affiliated organizations.”
