Lee Pace on Marriage to Longtime Partner Matthew Foley

Fresh off the release of his new horror comedy film, Bodies Bodies Bodies, actor Lee Pace has his marriage to longtime partner and Thom Browne executive Matthey Foley in a recent profile story with GQ.

Last August, Pace posted a series of photos from a camping trip with Foley, tagging his now-husband in the Instagram post. A full year later, Pace speaks about his interest in expanding their family, stating that he is excited to raise children alongside his husband one day. For Pace, marriage was described to him once as “an endless sleepover with your weirdest friend,” and after being set up by their mutual friend a few years ago, “in our experience, that is absolutely true.”

The star has consistently kept his sexuality to himself over the past few years, making headlines in 2018 with an interview with W Magazine where he shared that he has dated both men and women.

After the interview, Pace tweeted that “In a recent phone interview, I was asked questions that I wasn’t expecting and found myself momentarily at a loss for the right words. My privacy is important to me, so I protect it. When interviewed by the media, I keep the focus on my work.”

Reflecting on his many roles over the past few years, most notably in The Hobbit trilogy, Pushing Daisies, and most recently, Bodies Bodies Bodies, Pace was made well aware of the risks to his career if he came out, which contributed to the reasoning behind his adamant request for privacy amidst other things.

In the same 2018 interview, Lee Pace speaks out on his continued support and advocacy for the LGBTQ community, stating that “as a member of the queer community, I understand the importance of living openly, being counted, and happily owning who I am,” he added.
