Lawsuit to be Filed Against Colorado’s Buffalo Exchange Former Owner

Buffalo Exchange

Todd Colletti was hit with an alleged lawsuit on Tuesday of last week. Colletti co-founded and owned multiple Buffalo Exchanges, a nationally popular, second-hand consignment store. The various allegations are aimed toward the former franchise owner Todd Colletti. These accusations began surfacing and buzzing around the social media app Instagram in late July with dozens of statements from former employees.

Following the allegations, four people are expected to file a lawsuit against their former boss. This group of employees banded together to create an Instagram account called ‘Buffalo In The Room’ to share their stories and experiences working in the alleged toxic environment. The posts that were created by the accusers were shared all around the web by outraged Denver locals. The Buffalo In The Room Instagram account warned others of the alleged sexual assault, and advocated to cease support of a business that mistreats their employees.

These allegations range from sexual assault to distributing drugs to minors and creating a cult-like environment. A former employee told a CBS4 Investigator that she once reported Colletti’s alleged inappropriate behavior to human resources but didn’t see any changes being made.

Colletti wasn’t the only one under fire; the lawsuit alleges that leaders of corporate Buffalo Exchange knew of Colletti’s alleged actions and chose to overlook said actions. Once the accusers’ Instagram account gained noticeable popularity, it cued corporate Buffalo Exchange to sever their relationship with the Colorado franchise. Corporate leaders stated the franchise owners were given time to change their Colorado stores’ names following these allegations, but declined to do so. This action then prompted the Colorado Buffalo Exchange franchise locations involved in the alleged accusations to permanently close last summer.

Colletti has yet to comment publicly on said sexual assault/distributing to minors allegations

This past December, according to a Westword report, the Denver District Attorney’s Office did not pursue charges against Colletti.
