Lauren Boebert Calls LGBTQ People “Degenerates”

Lauren Boebert, in her most recent dramatic endeavor, has referred to LGBTQ people as “degenerates.” Why? She’s upset that The North Face’s brand has partnered with Pattie Gonia, a campy, fun-loving drag queen.

Pattie Gonia posted an Instagram video announcing North Face’s “Summer of Pride” ad, in which the brand is selling clothing with rainbow patterns in celebration of Pride month. “We’re here to invite you to come out… in nature with us!” she says in the video while wearing a rainbow skirt in a forest.

The video is pretty innocent, of course, containing no foul language, nudity, or explicit jokes, but it has still seemed to really anger the right. The responses have been pretty similar to the hateful backlash to Bud Light’s recent Pride collab and include several comments from people saying they will boycott The North Face.

“Well, I guess North Face wanted to get a taste of what conservatives did to Bud Light and Target,” Boebert wrote in a tweet. “How many times do we have to explain to the woke marketing departments at these disgusting companies that America is not a nation of degenerates? Let’s make it as shameful to wear North Face as it is to drink Bud Light!”

Her tweets have had numerous responses and criticisms, as people have called her out for writing embarrassing tweets instead of being more concerned about her children and being accused of covering up child abuse in her family.

Similarly, Majorie Taylor Greene, another republican politician, shared her unnecessary opinions and frustrations with The North Face’s video, saying that she was giving up all name-brand clothing because of it.

“Big name brands sexually targeting children makes me want to buy all generic brand clothing now,” Greene wrote. “Besides… we can save a fortune NOT wasting money on labels that are grooming our children.” She added the hashtag #BoycottGroomers, a reference to how many on the right believe the false narrative that LGBTQ people are child sex abusers.
