Larkin-Poe

Nashville-based, sister act Larkin Poe hit the road and swung through Denver, stopping at The Ogden, on September 17 as part of their Monster Energy Outbreak Tour. Celebrating the release of not one but two new albums, Rebecca and Megan Lovell elated the crowd in an evening full of their signature blues-rock, anthemic songs in the hour-plus set.

Revolving around the lively and raw tracks from the 2020 Self Made Man release, rock ‘n’ roll exuded from every pressed fret and driven harmony. The melodies of Larkin Poe are undeniably catchy, and the power that radiates from the pair is exciting and brings the energy in the room up to a level 10, keeping the pace up with song after song of gritty, loud, and dynamic structure that nestles in the sweet spot between country twang and western pop.

It comes as no surprise that the duo hit number one on the Billboard blues album chart in 2020 with Self Made Man, and as Larkin Poe exhibited both their musical aptitude as well as their incredible stage presence. Uninhibited, their Southern charm paired with their talent create a sense of magnetism, as they sing and sway along with the rhythm of their upbeat tracks.

The singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist sisters Larkin Poe continue to deliver soulful rock ‘n’ roll, and a great show to boot. As descendants of tortured artist and creative genius Edgar Allan Poe, the charismatic and accomplished duet continue to lead the charge in influencing the direction of where the blues, soul, rock, pop, and country genres collide.
