Just Watch: Gay Rapper Sayth’s New Throwback Music Video “Rare Candy”
If you’re unfamiliar with out rapper Sayth, it’s time to get familiar. The Eau Claire, Wisconsin rapper takes us back to the late ’80s/early ’90s with is new video “Rare Candy.” With nods to Game Boy, Pokemon, and a few other retro staples, the video is pretty spot on in its nostaglia. Even the video itself is a throwback, because it’s shot in low-res.
Sayth also gives a righteous middle finger to anyone who has a problem with gays in hip-hop, singing “Every gay rapper doesn’t have to get booed at,” then follows with some millennial anxiety: “I’m less worried ’bout killing raps to death/More worried ’bout going into debt.”
