Happy Hour with the Allies
Though not gay-oriented, these are the happiest hours around Denver
Looking to shy away from the gay-bar scene and find some places that’ll get you some day-drinking deals? Check out these frugal-budget approved spots from Cap Hill to Downtown and even into the Highlands.
Vita
3–6pm, Monday through Friday
2–6pm, Saturday and Sunday
2-For-1 appetizers, martinis (18 options) and wines by the glass (26 options)
One of the best! Rooftop patio in the heart of the Highlands, located just around the corner from Little Man Ice Cream, so you should probably grab dessert there afterward.
Hapa
Either downtown or in Cherry Creek, Hapa’s specials begin at 3pm but end according to location. Tons of cheap sushi items and unique Asian appetizers, and heavily discounted sake and sake-infused drinks. The OUT FRONT staff have been … tipsy at Hapa on many occasions and couldn’t recommend a better deal on belly-warming sake during the day.
Prohibition
Monday through Friday, 3–7 pm = $3 wells and drafts with killer appetizers. Conveniently on the corner of Pennsylvania and Colfax, the atmosphere brings a cozy vibe with a patio that’s prime for people-watching.
Charlie Brown’s
Two daily happy hours:
4–6:30pm
10:30–12:30pm
First round 2-for-1s on calls, wells, house wine, and domestic beer. Cheap food options like sliders, tacos, a huge plate of nachos, and an amazing quesadilla. One of Jack Kerouac’s old hangouts, there’s almost always live piano.
Armida’s
2-for-1 drinks and half off food from 4–6pm. This popular karaoke spot on Lincoln can get pretty crowded if a party’s there, but it’s worth it if you can find a spot to sip margs and sing your heart out.
Appaloosa Grill
Two daily happy hours from 3–6pm and 10pm–midnight. Late-night food is served from 11pm–1:30am. On the 16th Street Mall directly across from the Pavilions, you might miss it unless you’re looking for it.
Paramount Café
3–6pm daily, drink specials from $4 to $6.
Deals on appetizers for $5; Late-night happy hour every day from 10pm–1:15am, $1 off draft pints and 2-for-1 shot specials.
Also directly across from the Pavilions, this one’s got a rockin’ vibe inside, but try for the patio if you can, especially on a hot night. One of the best patios to see a hybrid of the Comic Con crowd and Pride attendees.
