Hamilton Announced to Come Back to Denver in 2022
The Hamilton craze is back up and running with the recent release of the show on Disney Plus. While the ability to watch the magic on the television screen is fully available, the Denver Center of Performing Arts has announced a rescheduled date for the live version of Hamilton in 2022 after pulling to a stop of live shows in April 2020 only two days after announcing the run. It’s safe to say, Denver is not throwing away it’s shot of seeing Hamilton live and in person.
Previously scheduled to be performed this year, the Denver Center of Performing Arts had to move their original dates due to COVID-19. Now, the Tony-award-winning Broadway sensation will be performed in Denver from February 16 to March 27, 2022 in the Buell Theatre.
The Denver Center for Performing Arts said customers who already purchased tickets will receive an email with their new dates, and other fans can expect ticket sales closer to the event.
Single-ticket sales are not yet available for purchase, but excited participants are encouraged to receive updates through this website for their chance at tickets.
“Please know that we appreciate your patience and your patronage. We can’t wait to see you again,” said John Ekeberg, the executive director of Broadway and Cabaret.
According to The Know, though the announcement gives theater-goers some clarity about one popular production, the DCPA is still navigating a challenging and uncertain time. The nonprofit theater company has canceled and postponed all of its 2020 season, and the Broadway programming line rescheduled some tours as well. In April, DCPA cut staffing costs by more than half through layoffs and furloughs.
The Broadway version of Hamilton first visited Denver in 2018 as one of the hottest shows of the season. More than 100,000 people competed online for limited seats, and the 2022 run could expect the same level of demand.
