GRAPHIC IMAGERY: Trans inmate beaten, forced to shave head in Brazil

Leaked images of the pulverized face of a transwoman who was arrested, brutalized, and forced to shave her head are sparking outrage around Brazil.

Though images of Veronica Bolina, 25, being singled out by law enforcement are going viral, police insist limited involvement, saying she was beaten by fellow inmates who saw her performing a “sex act” upon herself in a jail cell. They claim they only intervened when she bit a policeman on the ear during the breakup of the attack.
