Get Stoked: The Dinah’s 30th Anniversary

Well, ladies and theys, the largest all-girl music festival in the world is back! The Dinah will be celebrating their 30th Anniversary. This incredible milestone will be held Sept. 29-Oct. 3, 2021 in Palm Springs, CA at the Hilton Hotel as well as the Palm Springs Convention Center. Attendees will need to follow a CDC requirement in order to enjoy the festival—supply a negative COVID test or full vaccination card.

This woman centric festival draws thousands of lesbians to unite as festival goers including all LGBTQ+ women, nonbinary and trans people, and allies as well. The Dinah is over five days of fun activities; the attendees are spoiled with more than just musical performances. They include celebrity meet-and-greets, comedy shows, contests, DJ Battles, games, nighttime soirees, pool parties, and much, much more.

Although the official festie lineup won’t drop until sometime in late August, they gave y’all a little sneak peak into who’s performing. The Dinah has confirmed a performance at the pool party on Friday. There will be no other than leading, nonbinary artist and actor Kat Cunning who will be gracing us with their presence. Their music tends to bring some soulful grace to anthemic alternative pop. During Pride 2021, they released a video for their song “Boys,” which included an entire cast and crew of individuals who identify as either transgender or nonbinary.

“I am so excited to perform The Dinah. It’s a monumental staple of the lesbian community. I can’t wait to look out at the dream crowd of queers and to be immersed in that environment for the first time!” says Kat Cunning.

The Dinah has been known for showcasing the next “it” thing in music. Mariah Hanson, founder and producer of the globally celebrated event, has an eye for success by choosing to showcase the most promising, up-and-coming artists. These artists tend to become world-renowned performers and recording artists after using The Dinah as a platform for success.

Lizzo, body positive queen, and singer/rapper took stage at The Dinah back in 2017 before her big break, and then fast-forward to 2020, the Top 10 Billboard charting artists took home three Grammys. Other household names who previously performed on the stages at The Dinah include Tegan and Sara, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Bebe Rexha, Snow Tha Product, Jessie Reyes, Meghan Trainor, Iggy Azalea, Eve, Chaka Khan, Salt ‘N Pepa, Christina Perri, and Natasha Bedingfield just to name a few.
