Dave Rubin, a gay conservative, alleges he was part of a scheme after the Department of Justice reports that Russia used him as a way of spreading misinformation regarding the 2024 elections in the U.S.
All of this was discovered as an apparent scheme to “covertly finance and direct” through a Tennessee-based media company. The media company was promoting Russian interests, and Russia is where 90% of the organization’s money comes from.
The company’s agents were not legally classified as foreign agents, something that companies have a legal obligation to do. ubin is one of the six commentators for the media company, and in the indictment, it is stated that he agreed to post ” four weekly videos that he would host and would be live-streamed by Tenet media in exchange for 400k a month and a 100k signing bonus.”
Apart from being gay and conservative, Rubin actively supports anti-LGBTQ+ policies, many which pose huge threats to the community. He is well-known for expressing these policies to his guests on his shows.
“I get nothing but love from conservatives,” he says. He also claims he “likes hanging out with conservatives.” While being conservative and gay isn’t unheard of, aiding Russian interests to interfere with things in the U.S. definitely is.
In an interview with Candace Owens, Rubin said it would be okay if people tell him they are praying for him simply because he is gay. Owens herself is guilty for expressing many homophobic comments, many which specifically target the trans community.
Amongst other problematic statements, Rubin allowed Donald Trump to call him the f-slur and insulted White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, saying that she only got the job because she is a “black lesbo.”
Rubin being indicted on having Russian connections puts things into perspective about the corruption of politics today, and the queer connection makes the story even stranger.
