Fresh Start SF: a Retro Futuristic EDM Block Party at The Midway, San Francisco
For the sixth consecutive year, Fresh Start is returning to The Midway in San Francisco to ring in 2024 with a retro futuristic take on a weekend-long, winter wonderland block party.

Kaskade, VNESSA, Kaleena Zanders, Louis the Child, Tchami & Malaa (NO REDEMPTION), and Odesza (DJ set) are just a handful of the dance music superstars scheduled to perform at the indoor/outdoor event, spanning three full days from December 30 – January 1.
Neon lights and futuristic aesthetics collide in space-themed decor, paying homage to retro styles of the past featuring a “galaxy” of popular dance music talent. Located in the Bayview neighborhood of San Francisco, The Midway is a 40,000-square-foot interactive venue where guests are invited to explore, create, engage, feel, and be inspired.

The name “Fresh Start” symbolizes hope, reinvention, and the power of music to unite us all, an apt moniker for the highly anticipated multi-day celebration of EDM and all forms of dance music. Kicking off on Friday, December 30, party-seekers will be transported to an era that never was, where popular touring DJs collide with interactive art exhibits in a symphony of colors and shapes.
Joining Tchami & Malaa, VNSSA, and Kaleena Zanders on Friday, December 30 for the sold out warm up session are DJs Acraze b2b Noizu, Eli & Fur, and nearly a dozen others. Fresh Start will also host a “double feature” that same evening, with special guest SG Lewis headlining Fresh Start After Dark with Desert Hearts, Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, among others in support. The additional event kicks off at 10:30PM, with separate ticket purchases necessary to attend both back to back festivities.

Odesza will be making their first Bay Area appearance since Outside Lands Festival early in the day on Saturday, December 31st for a highly anticipated outdoor sunset DJ set, followed by performances by Dr. Fresch, Elderbrook, and Louis the Child to kick off the first few hours of 2024 in a way that only the city of San Francisco can.
Sunday, January 1st starts off “bright and early” at 1PM with performances from Chris Lorenzo, Dirty Bird Records’ Justin Martin, and Kaskade, who has not performed a New Year’s DJ set in San Francisco since his infamous fall onstage at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium back in 2019. Friday and Sunday’s events will run until 10 p.m., and 1 a.m. on Saturday night, December 31.

Predictably, tickets are selling out at hyper speed with payment plans for the mini-festival no longer available, but VIP packages and upgrades can still be purchased online as well as at the door, pending availability.
