Food by the Truck Load
Denver food truck fans, today is your day. The ninth year of Civic Center Eats begins at 11am in Civic Center park, bringing 46 different types of cuisine including Asian, Mexican, Italian, and generally all foods you would want growing in a magical food-growing-on-trees forest.
Our editor stopped by to take a look at the fare and after gawking for twenty minutes at the selection — we’re talking Japanese-Hawaiian fusion, Greek delights, crepes, pierogis, Latin marvels, adobo from the Phillipines, crockpot craziness, falafel, biscuit sandwiches, French dishes, Maine lobster rolls, and desserts galore — she went with slow-cooked ribs from Moe’s BBQ and pretty much ruined her outfit.
Worth it.
Food trucks may pay a daily fee of $23 to operate in Civic Center Park and those proceeds will go to the park itself to help boost its amenities like outdoor classes, movies, and an independence day celebration.
The park and trucks aren’t the only ones who benefit — the stomachs belonging to the workers of downtown Denver are pretty pleased too.
Join in on the tasty celebration every Tuesday and Thursday from this week until October 9.
