“Ex-Ex-Gay” tells personal story of his long road to self-acceptance

Famous “ex-gay” John Paulk wrote a telling op-ed for Politico Magazine which details his thought process going into conversion therapy, marrying a woman, and becoming a spokesperson for EXODUS, a now discredited gay conversion therapy clinic.
In his story, he talks of personal as well as interpersonal grief that his commitment to perceived heterosexuality had caused, and the steps he’s taking to making it right.
His hope is that people of the Texas GOP or anyone else who believes in sexual conversion therapy will read this piece and come to terms with sexuality being an unchangeable aspect of a person’s life.
