A24 Studios—the minds behind Tusk, The VVitch, Midsommar and Hereditary—auctioned off props from their 2022 masterpiece, Everything Everywhere All At Once, a visually stunning film that tackles generational trauma, radical compassion, and existential despair. Starring Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and Stephanie Hsu, this film has earned stellar reviews across IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, Google Reviews, and Vudu.
The auctions kicked off on Thursday, February 23 and are split into three groups, all benefitting different nonprofits. Bidding closed on Thursday, March 2.
The first group is the “In Another Life” Auction. Lots in this group include Jobu’s Elvis Costume, going for $6,500 at the time of writing. Evelyn’s Giant Baby Costume, at $1,750, and Chef Chad’s Uniform, complete with raccoon-sized chef toque, going for $3,250, are also available in this auction, along with several other costumes.
Proceeds from this group will benefit the Transgender Law Center (TLC), “the largest national trans-led organization advocating for a world in which all people are free to define themselves and their futures.” TLC, in their own words, “has led the country in challenging the legal system to respect the dignity and humanity of transgender and gender nonconforming people.”
In the second group, “Mementos from the Multiverse,” there are smaller trinkets, like the suggestively-shaped Auditor of the Month Trophy, Gong Gong’s tricked-out Alphaverse Wheelchair, and a Ball Gag and Feather Tickler set, among others. Bidding for these lots are at $14,000, $2,600, and $1,750, respectively.
The “Mementos from the Multiverse” Auction benefits the Asian Mental Health Project, which “aims to educate and empower Pan-Asian communities in seeking mental healthcare.” The organization works to de-stigmatize mental health topics and make mental healthcare more approachable and accessible to the Pan-Asian community.
Last but certainly not least, the “Laundry and Taxes” Auction offers such props and costume pieces as Feets Magazine, going for $2,500. A set of Hot Dog Hands was available for $7,500, and Deirdre’s Hot Dog Costume was set at $1,750.
This auction raied funds for the Laundry Workers Center, a nonprofit that “combats abuses such as landlord negligence, wage theft, and hazardous and exploitative working conditions” in New York City and New Jersey. Their work mainly benefits those in low-income communities, especially minority and immigrant communities.
