Employee forced to wear “gaytard” nametag sues for workplace discrimination

A restaurant and its employees have recently come under fire for placing a “Gaytard” label on top of an employee’s name tag. Tyler Brandt, 16, the employee in question, claims he was forced to wear the nametag at the Taco John’s in Yankton, South Dakota. This, combined with the humiliation Brandt felt, made him feel as if he had to quit.
The ACLU is representing Brandt in his suit filed against Taco John’s.
Taco John’s released a statement about the ordeal on their facebook page:
