Elon Musk’s Trans Daughter Vivian Wilson Condemns Her Father
Vivian Jenna Wilson, the transgender daughter of Elon Musk, has pushed back against her father’s transphobic rhetoric in an interview with Jordan Peterson, a right-wing commentator.
During the interview, Musk said, “I lost my son,” and used Wilson’s dead name, claiming she was, “dead, killed by the woke mind virus.” Later on his own social media platform, X, Musk claimed she was “born gay and slightly autistic,” which Musk says contributes to gender dysphoria. He also went on to stereotype Wilson, saying she liked to use the word “fabulous” and loved musicals and theater.
Wilson recently responded in an exclusive interview with NBC News, claiming Musk’s statements about her were blatant lies. Growing up, Wilson says her father was predominantly absent and would berate Wilson when he was around, harassing her for displaying more feminine traits and making fun of her voice. He would also pressure her to “appear more masculine” and deepen her voice. She calls her father “cold,” “uncaring,” and “narcissistic.”
Still, despite Musk’s claims that he was tricked into signing medical documents, Wilson says Musk was fully aware of his actions. Back in 2020, Willson was still a minor and required the consent of both her parents to undergo treatment for gender dysphoria. While Musk was initially hesitant, he eventually signed after reading through the documents with his daughter. She goes on to say that gender dysphoria treatment should be more accessible to everyone.
Wilson also took the opportunity to refute her father’s claims, insisting that Musk’s comments on her early life and actions were untrue stereotypes: “I’ve been reduced to a happy little stereotype.”
Wilson condemns her father’s opinions and statements about not just her but the queer community and wants no relationship or connection with him. She legally changed her name in 2022 and maintains a relationship with her mother, Justine Wilson, whom she says is “very supportive.”
