Elliot Page’s Anticipated Memoir Pageboy and Upcoming Book Tour

Elliot Page‘s highly anticipated memoir, Pageboy, is set to be published on June 6, right in time for Pride month. Page will also be appearing in a book tour all throughout June, starting at the Town Hall in Manhattan on the June 6. He will be at several other venues throughout the month of June, including Los Angelos, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Madison, Wisconsin.

The actor told People magazine that June 6 “feels like it is quickly approaching.” He also shared that he is “thrilled for people to finally read Pageboy. I am grateful for the opportunity to engage with readers and listeners across the country about it, and to celebrate other queer and trans stories along the way as well.”

The book’s description touches on how Page had only just started to connect with his queer identity before starring in the 2007 indie film, Juno, his first major on-screen performance that launched his career.

“His dreams were coming true, but the pressure to perform suffocated him,” the description says. “He was forced to play the part of the glossy young starlet, a role that made his skin crawl, on and off set. The career that had been an escape out of his reality and into a world of imagination was suddenly a nightmare.”

The memoir is also set to include “behind the scenes details and intimate interrogations on sex, love, trauma, and Hollywood” as Page tells the story of navigating “criticism and abuse from some of the most powerful people in Hollywood, a past that snapped at his heels, and a society dead set on forcing him into a binary.” Although challenging and emotional, the book has a happy ending, with the description stating that it is “an ode to stepping into who we truly are with defiance, strength, and joy.”

Since Page came out first in 2014, and then again as trans in 2020, he has been pretty busy with his career. He has had numerous projects, including starring in Umbrella Academy, where his character was also transitioning alongside him. Page is also producing a queer cheerleader drama, an Italian trans documentary, and several other projects. Pageboy is reportedly supposed to be Page’s most anticipated upcoming work, and we cannot wait to read it.
