EDM Artist CloZee Releases New Single and Music Video “Courage”
Earlier this month, French, multi-talented, and queer EDM artist CloZee released her latest new single “Courage.” Featuring electronic R&B artist ROZET, “Courage” is the second release of her new album Microworlds, which will be released later this summer.
CloZee creates an intimate journey for her fans with “Courage” as it exemplifies her ability to create emotionally-evoking soundscapes and carefully crafted, colorful moments. Combined with ROZET’s ethereal vocals, CloZee’s incredible synth melodies and moments of deep bass depict a visual story for listeners.
“Courage” is CloZee embracing her own self-expression and a symbol for others to be who they want to be. The track is accompanied by an official music video which features the dancer, Jalen Rashad, and is the second of a three-part video series following her single, “Microworlds.”
CloZee recently performed at the music and arts festival, Sonic Bloom, in Rye Colorado, where we got to experience her incredible story-telling first-hand through her entrancing sound and even had the chance to see the single, “Microworlds” performed live. We can definitely say that this left us wanting more, and we can’t wait for the rest of her album to be released.
“Courage” comes at a perfect time for Pride month and embodies what it means to be comfortable in one’s skin and the inner peace that comes with it.
As a member of the LGBTQ community, CloZee says, “This song and music video is about the courage to become and finally be able to express who you really are. It is about the importance of role models who give you the strength to not hide anymore, to be proud of who you are, and to be able to fully express yourself. It could be about that one encounter, or that one moment in your life that makes you finally go through the next chapter, and allows you to be you.”
Jalen comments, “The thematic beauty of this project is the portrayal of something so real. Something that many people experience and have to deal with, and the efforts of portraying that story I believe can be a breakthrough for many people.”
He adds, “I found it very moving being able to bring depth to ‘Courage’ through movement because from first glance, you’re able to feel. Being stuck in that plastic is exactly how it feels not being comfortable in your own skin. Working through it, trying to escape, moving around trying to find where you fit in. However, you realize you don’t, which allows you to find your freedom. So when the video cuts to (my favorite scene) the open space with warm lighting. I was very stunned by the way the video shifts to such willingness to be, whatever that means for the viewer. That scene captures warmth, freedom, and peace, which is what we all want from life.”
“Courage” was released following the announcement of CloZee’s fall headline Microworlds Tour, which starts on September 28.
