DragCon L.A. will Make a Triumphant RuTurn this Spring

DragCon L.A.

RuPaul’s DragCon L.A. is officially back in the house!

Taking place May 13-15, 2022 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, this event is a family-friendly celebration of drag, along with vendors, exhibitors, panels, Q&A sessions, and meet-and-greets with several stars of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

This will be the first convention since the inaugural RuPaul’s DragCon U.K. in January 2020. The annual L.A. and New York DragCons were both canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving many fans to resort to virtual events.

“I’m so excited that our tribe will be safely reunited once again,” RuPaul says in a statement. “RuPaul’s DragCon is the most gorgeous, most gag-worthy, and most life-affirming drag convention on the planet, and our aim is to serve you a super amazing experience while keeping you as safe as possible.”

The weekend-long event marks the 10th in-person DragCon, and for the first time, the first day of the convention will be a full day of programming so attendees can see and meet even more of their favorite queens.

As of this moment, the list of queens planning to sashay their away across the convention center is pretty epic. In addition to Mama Ru herself, winners from the last year like Priyanka (Canada’s Drag Race), Kita Mean (Drag Race Down Under), Lawrence Chaney (Drag Race UK), Symone (RuPaul’s Drag Race S13), and Kylie Sonique Love (Drag Race All Stars 6) will make their historic first appearances at DragCon.

Additionally, other queens across the franchises who plan to appear throughout the weekend include Aquaria, Mariah Balenciaga, Alaska, Tammie Brown, Kim Chi, Heidi N Closet, Divina De Campo, Eureka O’Hara, Gigi Goode, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Kameron Michaels, Naomi Smalls, Pandora Boxx, Ariel Versace, Blu Hydrangea, Kahmora Hall, Mrs. Kasha Davis, Scarlet Envy, Nicky Doll, Vivacious, Dusty Ray Bottoms, Baga Chipz, Shuga Cain, Sasha Velour, the United Kingdolls, and the Frock Destroyers.

More performers will be announced in the coming months.
