Patricia Eagle Dog Love Stories

Patricia Eagle’s new book, Dog Love Stories, is a heartfelt and candid reflection on seven decades of companionship with 10 dogs—each one shaping her understanding of trust, love, and resilience. Through engaging and often humorous storytelling, Patricia shares how these relationships helped her grow, overcome challenges, and become a better human.

Through her story, Patricia learns how to become a better human, dog owner, and companion. With profound writing, Patricia’s beloved dogs come to life on each page with unique personalities, views, and interactions with the world.

Dog Love Stories

Dog Love Stories, published by Simon & Schuster, is for anyone who has ever loved a dog, known a dog lover, or wondered about the deep emotional connections we form with our four-legged friends. These connections are super common in the queer community, as many of us consider our dogs our children. With a 4.33 rating on Goodreads, one reviewer describes the book as a “woman’s life journey told through the dogs she loved and who loved her. Mutual healing happened with each milestone relationship.”

Patricia wrote her first story about her love for dogs when she was 10 years old and published her first book, Being Mean: A Memoir of Sexual Abuse and Survival, in her 60s. With a love of commemoration, Patricia acknowledges and celebrates life’s paths and memories through her writing. After the death of her spouse to cancer just prior to the publication of Dog Love Stories, Patricia celebrates life after loss with their dog, Mercy, living in the San Luis Valley in South-Central Colorado.
