Denver Wrangler rolls out Hungry Bear kitchen

The Denver Wrangler has officially opened its in-house restaurant, Hungry Bear.

Offering pub style food such as nachos, chicken tenders, burgers, fries, green chili, sandwiches, salads, subs, and a variety of pizzas, Hungry Bear offers more than your typical bar food.

“We’re the only place in the area that is offering local, housemade food,” Hungry Bear manager Cory Cutting says. “The only other option for people in the area is Burger King, but you’ll pay about the same price for our food just a block away.”

Hungry Bear opened its less than a month ago after the contract with Mary Jane Pizza, who originally held the space in front of the bar’s new location, was terminated. The restaurant, which hosts several two person tables, opens it’s doors daily at 11am, and offers, dine-in, carry out, and delivery until 11pm. Delivery services caters to a three mile radius from 3090 N. Downing St.

Upon walking into the separate entrance from the bar, guests are greeted by colorful walls, a hand-drawn chalkboard menu, and an employee sitting behind a small bar. After ordering, the kitchen located within theWrangler and manned by Chad Bryan and two other employees deliver the food at a speedy rate. Patrons of any age are welcome to strut through the doors of Hungry Bear, but those of legal drinking age are also offered the opportunity to order food from any of the bars located in the Wrangler.

“You can eat at any of the bars while the kitchen is open, and there are tables scattered throughout,” Cory said.

The business, despite only being a month old, is staying busy, especially as the weather gets colder and on Beer Bust days.

“We are having people come in for a full night experience of eating, then hitting the bar for a few drinks. It’s a one-stop shop,” Cory says. “We’ve also seen people come in and order food right before they grab an Uber or Lyft home from. It’s hard not to grab something delicious to take home with you.”
