Denver PrideFests

It was a weekend to be proud of.

Hundreds of thousands members of the LGBT community, their families and their allies gathered at Civic Center in the heard of Denver to celebrate Pride.

The 37th annual PrideFest included a two day festival, entertainment featuring drag queens, one-half of Milli Vanilli, Kristine W, dozens of DJs, a country and Latin stage and kids parade.

The backbone of  PrideFest was the parade. The state’s four out gay lawmakers, Sens. Pat Steadman, Lucia Guzman and Reps. Mark Ferrandino and Sue Schafer served as grand marshals.

Gov. John Hickenlooper made a guest appearance as well, marching with the LGBT Color Guard.

Other floats included political organizations like One Colorado, service organizations like Colorado AIDS Project, PrideFest Sponsors At the Beach, bars like Tracks, and social groups like the Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountains.
