Denver 2022 Pride Parade Grand Marshals Announced

Pride

Organizers of Denver PrideFest selected community leaders from four organizations to serve as Grand Marshals for the in-person return for the Coors Light Denver Pride Parade, hosted by The Center on Colfax. The chosen organizations are One Colorado, Dragutante, Black Pride Colorado, and Womxn’s March Denver.

These organizations were chosen to lead the parade because of their unwavering commitment to community engagement and empowerment. The organizations’ dedication to inclusion and equal recognition of the populations they serve exemplify this year’s “Together with Pride” theme.

Take a look at this year’s Grand Marshals:

One Colorado is Colorado’s leading advocacy organization for advancing equality for LGBTQ Coloradans. They advocate by lobbying the General Assembly, executive branch, and local governments in the interest of protecting LGBTQ Coloradans and their families.

Dragutante is a nonprofit that hosts an annual event to provide a platform for young LGBTQ individuals to explore their self-expression. Since 2017, LGBTQ youth aged 8 to 18 have been given mentorship and a safe space to perform.

Black Pride Colorado is a program through YouthSeen that seeks to celebrate, liberate, and engage the Black LGBTQ community through preserving and honoring Black History and Culture.

Womxn’s March Denver is a collective of individuals who are targeted by sexism who are committed to amplifying marginalized voices to end sexism, oppression, and injustice, through community engagement, protest, and education.

This year’s Pride parade will take place on June 26, at 9:30 a.m., starting at Cheesman Park and ending at Civic Center Park, where Pride festivities including music, food, games, and more, will continue throughout the day.

Pride also serves as The Center on Colfax’s largest fundraiser, providing $1 million to help support Colorado’s queer community. The Center on Colfax is the largest queer community center in the Rocky Mountain region and has played a pivotal role in statewide initiatives to reduce harassment and discrimination against queer individuals.
