Denver Feminist Chorus Announces Next Shows

The Denver Feminist Chorus invites you to their next few shows!

Formerly the Denver Women’s Chorus, the DFC has become a safe space for LGBTQ+ folks, and “allies to raise their voices for visibility for the queer community, equal rights for women, bodily autonomy, voting equality, and many other social justice causes for over 40 years.”

Their upcoming program, Do Not Despair, is themed around the struggle of invisible disabilities such as mental illness, diabetes, neurodivergency, arthritis, and many more. The performance will include songs from Billie Eilish, Tears for Fears, and choral arrangements from Michael Bussewitz Quarm and Dominic DiOrio, among others. Do Not Despair will be performed on February 15 at Parsons Theatre in Northglenn and February 22 at Wellshire Presbyterian Church in Denver.

Envision You, a Colorado based LGBTQ+ mental health organization, is one of the partners for this performance and often sponsors events raising awareness for the health and wellness of the LGBTQ+ community. They seek “to improve LGBTQ+ mental health through community programming, advocacy, and evidence-based training.”

Because the DFC strives for inclusivity in their members, they also strive to extend that courtesy to their attendees. Ticket prices are typically $25 each, but they have placed this performance on a sliding scale price, meaning each ticket can be bought at a lower price if $25 is prohibitive.
