Cruz continues transphobic campaign

Ted Cruz, the man who has not ended his reign against the LGBT community during his entire campaign for presidency, once again brought fear and loathing to one of his pit stops in Spirit Lake, Iowa. His target, a transgender high school students who are fighting to use the bathrooms of the genders they identify as.

He told supporters yesterday that allowing a transgender student to use a faculty restroom amounts to “inflicting” the student on teachers but is a better alternative than “sticking him in the shower with the teenage girls.” After an awkward pause with a few quiet shuffles, Cruz didn’t seem to get the reaction he wanted and continued with “Look, my five-year-old daughter, Catherine – she knows the difference between boys and girls.”

A woman interrupted and told Cruz, and the crowd, about such an incident at the town’s local high school, saying the student used the bathroom in the teachers’ lounge.

Cruz responded, “Look, I don’t know the facts of that, but I’ll say that inflicting – inflicting him on the teachers is probably better than sticking him in the shower with the teenage girls.”

The woman said after the event that the high school student identifies herself as a female. Check out the video below.

Speaking with conservative radio show host Steven Crowder, Cruz described President Barack Obama’s support for transgender teens as “lunacy.”

“Look, these guys are so nutty that the federal government is going after school districts, trying to force them to let boys shower with little girls,” Cruz told Crowder, in the video released November 19. “Now listen: I’m the father of two daughters, and the idea that the federal government is coming in saying that boys, with all the god-given equipment of boys, can be in the shower room with junior high girls—this is lunacy.”

Fear mongering at its best.
