Coming Out Of The Cannabis Closet
PEOPLE WORKING TOWARD LGBT AND cannabis rights, though very different in their journey, have faced some similar challenges in their quests for acceptance. Both legal, social, political, and personal impacts forced them to live closeted lives for many years. Now, at long last, they’re starting to become what they should’ve been all along: legally recognized and able to bloom outside for all the world to enjoy.
“Are you ready for the perfect marriage? Pride Week meets cannabis in the first ever LGBT Cannabis Tours. Elevate your 40th anniversary Pride Fest in grand 420 fashion with a series of luxury cannabis tours hosted by some of the top cannabis companies in Colorado.”
The legalization of cannabis in Colorado is over, but now the real work begins. Cannabis’ integration into mainstream culture and lifestyle without the stigma of stereotypes is our new battle. Contrary to popular belief, most cannabis consumers do not resemble the stereotype we see on TV. In fact, we’d even venture to say the majority of folks who enjoy cannabis are completely normal, well-educated people who simply enjoy the benefits of smoking a joint, eating an edible, or vaporizing some great oil to relax and partake in their freedom of choice.
And that’s how it should be.
As LGBT support of the cannabis industry grows, we’d like to show the love right back. As a way to formally introduce ourselves, we’re announcing a year-long series of cannabis-based activities geared for the LGBT community — and we’ll be launching during Pride week.
Sign up for one of the Dispensary and Grow Tours on June 18, 19, or 20 and let us treat you to a cannabis-friendly, luxury limo ride provided by Sunset Limousine, special deals on Dixie Elixirs & Edibles, O.penVAPE vaporizers, VIP access to Native Roots Dispensary, and a tour of La Conte’s massive industrial grow facility and dispensary. Also included: a 420-friendly lunch at an LGBT restaurant (to be announced) and shopping at one of the world’s top glass shops. So who’s in?
