Colorado Gives Day is an annual, statewide event that hopes to inspire and celebrate philanthropy in Colorado through online giving. Each December, thousands of Coloradans come together to support local non-profits in this day-long giving event. Community First Foundation and FirstBank partner to make this day rewarding for givers, nonprofits, and the community as a whole.
Colorado Gives Day is Tuesday, December 8, and features a $1 Million Incentive Fund. Every nonprofit receiving a donation on Colorado Gives Day receives a portion of the fund, increasing impact and the value of every dollar donated. Colorado Gives Day has grown to be Colorado’s largest one-day online giving event, raising more than $257 million since it began in 2010.
Founded in 2007, ColoradoGives.org and its signature giving day make fundraising simple for nonprofits and easy for donors. More than $355 million has been donated to Colorado nonprofits through ColoradoGives.org since 2007. Starting on November 1, donations for Colorado Gives Day can be scheduled through the ColoradoGives website.
ColoradoGives.org is a year-round, online donation tool featuring the missions, programs, and finances of almost 3000 Colorado nonprofits. Included in these nonprofits is One Colorado, which the state’s leading advocacy organization dedicated to advancing equality for LGBTQ Coloradans and their families.
“When you give to One Colorado, you are making progress towards equitable healthcare for LGBTQ individuals. You are developing the future leaders of the LGBTQ movement. You are creating a more fair and just Colorado for all. I hope that you’ll consider making a donation to support our efforts on Colorado Gives Day,” Garrett Royer, development manager at One Colorado, told OUT FRONT.
“We have much to celebrate, but we know there’s still work to do. The election of the far-right conservative, Lauren Boebert, in Colorado’s Third Congressional District sends a frightening message to LGBTQ Coloradans on the Western Slope. One Colorado will make every effort to support LGBTQ individuals and ramp up our public education efforts in the area. We also anticipate more attacks on our community in the Colorado General Assembly next year, and will once again work hard to defeat every single one of them.”
