Reviving Classic Works: A Captivating Lineup

Under the visionary leadership of Artistic Director Gil Boggs, an engaging lineup comprised of classic works unfold. A captivating exploration of the human psyche by choreographer Val Caniparoli, a whimsical story of love and mistaken identity, and three performances that test the limitations of gravity and freedom, choreographed by former New York City Ballet principal dancer Lauren Lovette to close the season

Renewing Classics and Festive Favorites: Exciting Highlights

Renowned Ballet Masters Sandra Brown, Lorita Travaglia, and Maria Mosina breathe new life into choreographer Arthur Saint-Léon’s works in Coppélia, the comedic ballet based on two short stores by E.T.A. Hoffmann, author of The Nutcracker. The fan-favorite, bringing Clara’s favorite toy back to life for a battle royale, will also gracing the Colorado Ballet stages this holiday season in November and December.

Exploring the Gothic: An Enchanting Experience

As October arrives, be prepared for a captivating retelling of Swan Lake, meticulously crafted by choreographers Sandra Brown, Amanda McKerrow, and John Gardner. Anticipate an enthralling narrative of passion, heartbreak, sorcery, and deceit, set against the backdrop of a moonlit lake. Additionally, the eagerly anticipated U.S. premiere of the full-length ballet Jekyll & Hyde, choreographed by Val Caniparoli in 2020. This production delves deep into the human psyche, accompanied by the haunting melodies of acclaimed composers. Please note that Jekyll & Hyde is recommended for ages 13+ due to mature content.

World Premeire: Exclusive to Denver

Finally, Yoshihisa Arai’s Boléro, set to the score of Maurice Ravel, and George Balanchine’s Rubies, with music by Igor Stravinsky, brought to life by guest choreographer Lauren Lovette, will officially wrap up the season come spring time, April 12-21, 2024.

Celebrating Promotions 

Christophor Moulton ascends to the rank of Principal, while apprentices Kenny Allen and Alexandra Gilliom make their strides to the Corps de Ballet, as well as Cruz Vining, a valued new addition. Colorado Ballet’s Studio Company is equally impressive, comprising 22 exceptional dancers, with nine proudly representing alumni of the prestigious Colorado Ballet Academy (CBA).
