Cirrus Social Club: A Sesh with Founder Arend Richard

Cirrus Social Club

Cirrus Social Club, Denver’s premiere cannabis experience, is now officially open! As the newest smoke spot presents exciting events like Singles Night, a Pride Sesh, and live music, I had the opportunity to speak with Arend Richard, the founder of Cirrus.

First off, congratulations on the grand opening of Cirrus! As the name suggests, Cirrus Social Club looks to make cannabis a community event. Why is it important to Cirrus to promote the community surrounding cannabis?
Creating community and a space where like-minded individuals can feel comfortable is paramount to the human need for connection. It was important for me to create a space where a wide variety of different individuals of all ages could come together and share in cannabis.

What separates Cirrus from other cannabis spots?
I think the main separation is the service. From the moment you walk in, our goal is to provide you with first class service. Whether you’re a first-time consumer or a sophisticated stoner, we know how to take great care of you.

Is Cirrus geared more toward first-time consumers or seasoned stoners?
There isn’t a gear in that fight. What we are geared toward is people who enjoy experiences and spending time with the people they love. That can come in at all tolerance levels.

Whether it’s for a date night, friend night, or family visit, can you walk us through what a typical experience might look like when visiting Cirrus?
Imagine walking into a beautiful environment, greeted by a host who will whisk you to your table. Once sat at your table with the people you love, you’re greeted by a Flight Attendant who guides you through your experience. You’ll choose from our hand selected cannabis strains to be consumed through either a Volcano bag or bong. You can also order beverages and elevated munchies! You’ll spend 90 minutes to 2 hours laughing with friends, enjoying the ambiance, and being present in the moment.

Cirrus’ goal is to get the “Whole World Seshing Together” as well as the dream of having “three generations of adults seshing together.” These are fun goals. Why is this the core of Cirrus, and how long do you think before a sesh becomes as community-based everywhere as it is at the Social Club?
My vision is to have three generations of adults seshing together because I believe it opens up new conversations and new ways of thinking. It can help bridge gaps and help people better understand each other. From the outside, it looks like we are just getting people high, but the truth is, we are getting people to connect in a newer and deeper way than they could before.

Cirrus Social Club promotes cannabis, munchies, and beverages. Can you give us your favorite combination that includes one from each category?
You have to get a Volcano bag with whatever Green Dot strain is on the menu that week (they’re the best), coupled with a Charlotte Temple, and our signature pepperoni bagel bite trio!

Don’t miss out on the desserts!

Though it’s a Social Club, a membership isn’t required; however, there looks to be plenty of perks with the membership. Can you mention some of them here?
Members get access to our Members Only events, priority access to special events like our upcoming Pride Event on June 28, as well as a monthly member gift which is usually valued over the cost of a membership! Personally, I think it’s worth it. Plus, you get into a circle of like-minded individuals. Real connections are being made with our members!

Is there anything else you’d like to leave our readers with?
It’s such an honor to see the world enjoying a concept that was envisioned by a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. It’s really validating for that little boy inside who was always told he wasn’t doing things right. I’m very grateful and I hope Cirrus can be a beacon for our community and inspire other queer entrepreneurs to chase their dreams.
