Chaya Raichik Falsley Blames School Shooter Threat on Trans People

Libs of Tik Tok X account inaccurately blamed a school shooter threat on “trans violence” last month.
In a set of leaked texts from the Hillsborough County Sherif’s Office, Tampa resident Mya Elizabeth Young threatened to “’shoot up’” Alonso High School.
“At this time, detectives do not believe he has access to any weapons,” the HCSO incorrectly posted on X.
More trans violence?!
Tampa police arrested Mya Elizabeth Young for threatening to sh**t up a school.
Police referred to Mya Elizabeth with he/him pronouns.

Based on this typo, Libs of Tik Tok, run by far-right pundit Chaya Raichik claimed that trans violence was becoming an “epidemic.” Early the following day, after Raickik had begun to run with the idea of a trans shooter, the police amended their X post saying that the use of he/him pronouns had been a mistake.
Edit: The last line should read: At this time, detectives do not believe she has access to any weapons.

Libs of Tik Tok has not taken down nor corrected their post at this point.
Raichik has repeatedly claimed that shootings have been threatened or carried out by trans perpetrators. She falsely blamed The Apalachee High School shooting on a trans woman by misreading the CNN report, as well as a shooting at a Houston megachurch and about school shootings in Iowa and Texas, according to LGBTQ Nation.
Early this year NBC’s David Ingram published a news story tying Libs of TikTok posts to 21 bomb threats around the country. According to the story, Raichik claimed one school carried pornographic books, referring to Juno Dawson’s This Book is Gay, which led to a bomb threat only days later. Raichik claimed the story was a “hit piece” because she “made him look like an idiot.”

Raichik denies any allegations that Libs of Tik Tok supports or incites violence against LGBTQ+ people. She told the Washington Post that Libs of Tik Tok, “100% condemns any acts/threats of violence.” However, in November 2023, she posted a picture of her smiling while holding up a USA Today article saying, “When Libs of TikTok posts, threats increasingly follow.”
Mya Elizabeth Young was taken into custody, and no weapons were found in her possession.
