Check Out Charli XCX’s Iconic Single “Speed Drive” from ‘Barbie The Album’

The long-awaited movie of the Summer, Barbie, directed by the one and only Greta Gerwig is finally hitting theaters on July 21. Buy your tickets now before they sell out, and don’t forget to wear pink!

The Barbie Album, set to be released along with the movie on July 21, is kicked off with a new single from pop icon Charli XCX titled “Speed Drive” released on June 29. Followed by an iconic line-up of songs from some of your favorite artists, “Speed Drive” is a perfect example of Charli XCX’s signature hyper-pop and electro-pop style and gives a similar vibe to PinkPanthress’ featured dancey single titled “Angel,” which has already hit 300 million streams since its release on June 8. 

Also featured on the Barbie Album is a new single from Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice titled “Barbie World,” “Watati ft. Aldo Ranks” by Karol G, “Dance the Night,” by Dua Lipa, who is also making an appearance in the film as Mermaid Barbie, and more exciting hits from renowned artists such as Lizzo, Ava Max, Dominic Fike, Khalid, The Kid LAROI, Tame Impala, HAIM, GAYLE, FIFTY FIFTY feat. Kaliii, and Ryan Gosling with an original song performed as his character, Ken. 

The album was executive produced by DJ and Oscar, Golden Globe, and 7x Grammy award-winning artist and producer, Mark Ronson and Barbie’s writer, director, and executive producer Greta Gerwig, also known for her films Lady Bird, Little Women, and Frances Ha. It was Produced and overseen by Atlantic Records’ West Coast President, Kevin Weaver, and Atlantic Records’ EVP and Co-Head of Pop/Rock A&R, Brandon Davis. The film’s music supervisor is George Drakoulias, with music by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt.     

Barbie will be released nationwide on July 21 and internationally beginning July 19. The film was directed by Greta Gerwig, and Barbie stars Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, and Will Ferrell. Written by Greta Gerwig & Noah Baumbach, the movie is based on “Barbie” by Mattel and is produced by David Heyman, Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley, and Robbie Brenner. The executive producers are Gerwig, Baumbach, Ynon Kreiz, Richard Dickson, Michael Sharp, Josey McNamara, Courtenay Valenti, Toby Emmerich, and Cate Adams.
