Casual American cuisine delights Denver
Pat Miller, the Gabby Gourmet, hosts The Gabby Gourmet Restaurant…
Fleur Bistro is situated in a charming house with little commercial property surrounding it. Enter to a bright, sunny room with big windows, a fabulous white ceiling with etchings, tile floor and a beaux art French feel.
The small focal bar in the center serves as a wait stand and customers are invited to sit at the light wood tables topped with white linen set throughout the space. There is a room in the back for private parties or overflow in the main area.
The menu is short but the food and presentation are excellent. Start with small plates of chicken wings, smoked salmon, stuffed Portobello, a cheese plate and stuffed peppers. Salads of poached pear in sangria with nuts and cheese, field greens and Caesar make a great second course along with soups that vary often.
Large plates start with stuffed pork tenderloin with a maple glaze, grilled half chicken stuffed with herbs, fish, Osco buco and a great ahi tuna sandwich. Lovely sides complement the entrée.
Desserts include brownies with ice cream and salted caramel, tarts and chocolate.
There is a small but nicely priced wine list with great choices by the glass as well as bottle.
Weekend brunch is a terrific option and lunch and happy hour bring exciting dishes to the scene. Fleur Bistro makes for a great dining option set in this unique and delightful space.
