Buying a “Ted Cruz was the Zodiac Killer” shirt helps fund abortions
As we sit back and watch the candidates for the Republican nomination give us some of the best reality TV that any of us could have hoped for, and sweat out who exactly will be running against Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton, a completely ludicrous and hilarious hashtag and conspiracy theory has given us life.
The hashtag, #ZodiacTed, which links Ted Cruz to the infamous Zoadiac murders, has exploded. For those that don’t know, between December of 1968 and October of 1969 in Northern California, five men and women were murdered, and two others were attacked, by a man whose identity has remained a mystery since. The killer, who identified himself with a Zodiac sign in a series of cryptic and boastful letters to police, claims to have murdered 37 people altogether. There is little hope at this point that any of the crimes will be solved, but cases remain open in a number of cities throughout California.
The people of the Internet, jokingly we presume, are trying to connect Cruz to these murders? Based off a vague police sketch which looks like a young Cruz, and some circumstantial evidence, the internet exploded.
Now, there’s a shirt you can buy to forever hold on to the time that Ted Cruz was running for President and a bunch of trolls tried to tie him to the Zodiac murders. The shirt is the brain child of the Internet, creator Tim Faust and drawn by his artist friend Rory Blank.
Did you know Ted Cruz is the Zodiac? Do you want to fund abortion in west TX? https://t.co/yHzodLrJQx #ZodiacTed pic.twitter.com/xSkhLOYPG4

The gents have announced that the proceeds from said shirt will go to the West Fund, an abortion fund based in El Paso. The West Fund “provides funding and support for abortion services to the people of southwest Texas—women most severely punished by the barbaric policies of our own Zodiac senator,” Tim said.
Tim, Rory, and all you shady Internet trolls deserve a medal.
