Broadway dancer murders boyfriend & confesses on Facebook
After writing a series of increasingly chilling Facebook posts, a Broadway dancer named Marcus Bellamy (pictured) has been charged with the murder of boyfriend Bernardo Almonte.
It was moments after killing his boyfriend that the 32-year-old dancer, who performed in Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, confessed to the murder with a vague Facebook post.
Forgive me. I did it for love. I did it because I love you. He told me love and hate are the same emotion.
Forgive me. I know not what I do. I did it for love.
For god. On high.
After the murder, Bellamy posted a confession and several shirtless photos to Facebook, left the Manhattan apartment he shared with Almonte, and then told his neighbor what he’d done. The neighbor called the police, and Bellamy was arrested at the scene.
A law enforcement source said Bellamy strangled his lover as they brawled inside the W. 174th St. home in Morris Heights. Police said Almonte was found in the fifth-floor apartment face down, bleeding from a blow to the head. Bellamy bit both of Almonte’s shoulders during the fatal fight, cops said, though it was not disclosed what they were arguing over.
According to an eyewitness, Bellamy stood outside the apartment waiting for police to arrive, staring at the sky with his hands raised in the air.
Bellamy is now facing murder and manslaughter charges for killing the 27-year-old freelance IT technician.
