Boyfriends suspended after being refused tickets to prom

A Louisiana teenage, gay couple, who were denied tickets to prom because same-sex couples are against school regulations, fought back against the school system and, after a few days suspension, solidified a place at their high school prom.

Junior Raymond Tullier and his boyfriend, sophomore Nicholas Newport, were barred from buying tickets to their school’s prom this past week. When Tullier attempted to buy ticket’s at lunch, he was told by his assistant principal that he would not be able to attend as long as he was planning to attend with his boyfriend.

Raymond then texted his mother,Tamblie Barbin, who was having none of the schools outdated regulations concerning queer youth and dancing and called the school. But, in a surprise turn of events, her son Ryamond was suspended for using his cell phone during school.

When French Settlement High School, where the boys were rejected tickets, were unable to fix the situation, Tamblie reached out to The Livingston Parish school superintendent, who stepped in to investigate the problem and ultimately change the assistant principal’s mind.

Have fun at prom boys!
