Boulet Brothers Share Monstrous Production Deal with Shudder
The Boulet Brothers, producers and hosts of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula and Resurrection, signed off on a new multi-project production deal with Shudder—AMC Network’s premium streaming service for horror-centric stories—that will expand their Dragula franchise.
“This new partnership with Shudder (and the AMC family) provides an incredible opportunity for us to expand our cinematic universe and to flesh out all of the characters, stories and stars that audiences have fallen in love with over the years,” the Boulet Brothers say in a statement. “We couldn’t be more excited about the content that we’re about to unleash, and if fans have felt shocked and engaged with our content in the past, they are truly not ready for what’s coming next. It’s going to be a wild, fun, and terrifying new ride.”
The expanded franchise will include Season Five of the popular reality competition series, The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula, a full-season spinoff series scheduled to debut this fall, and a special set that will make its appearance sometime in the next year.
Since Dragula’s first appearance in 2016, it has grown in popularity with the Shudder staff and audience. Season Four was reportedly one of Shudder’s 2021 most-watched series according to Variety, and the Dragula franchise has since received heavy praise from Craig Engler, Shudder’s general manager.
“With The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula and Resurrection, the Boulet Brothers have proven to be uniquely talented producers and storytellers, creating innovative, inclusive programming that smashes genres and draws a large and loyal following,” Engler says. “We’re excited to be working with them on their upcoming new competition series, with more to come in 2023.”
Well, there you have it uglies… The dynamic duo, Dracmorda and Swanthula, will continue to facilitate space this fall and into 2023 for misfits, outcasts, and horror lovers alike with series you’ll want to devour in a single sitting. Bon appetite.
