An engaging Beetlejuice presentation is on the way! Band of Toughs will present Five 5ths: Beetlejuice, a one-night-only collaboration that splits the cult classic into five different parts, each reimagined by a different local theatre company.
On their website, Band of Toughs tease the premise: “What happens when we take a cult classic film, split it into five parts, and hand it to five different local companies?” The answer: “Pure theatrical chaos—and unforgettable fun!”
Known for their original and genre-bending work that encourages audience engagement, the theatre troupe is turning the evening into a fun remix.
“We’re turning cult cinema into community theater—and everyone’s invited to play,” says Band of Toughs Artistic Director, Colleen Mylott.
The featured companies consist of Japanese Arts Network, Audacious Immersive, Acting Tipsy Theatre Company, Fractal Circus, and Band of Toughs.
Rather than presenting the story straight through, Five 5ths: Beetlejuice takes a special approach where each participating company is responsible for a different fifth of the story. Each company’s unique tone, performance style, and theatrical imagination will be applied to the cult-classic film. The performance functions as a live, collaborative remix of the film, and the audience gets to experience the dynamic and transformative show.
For Colorado theater enthusiasts, the event also showcases the talents of local companies, demonstrating their skills, strengths, and collaborative prowess. The evening promises to be full of enriching performances and strong community support as Band of Toughs presents this limited-time event.
The performance will take place on October 28, 2026, beginning at 7:00 PM, with the box office opening at 6:30 p.m. It will be held at the Junkyard Social Club at 2525 Frontier Ave., Suite A, in Boulder. Tickets start at $10 and can be purchased using Cash or Venmo at the door, or they can be purchased in advance here.
At the event, there will also be press opportunities, such as photo and video coverage. Interviews and press seating will be available upon request.
