Aurora Musician Jaiel Releases “Bet on Me”

Jaiel, an artist rooted in Aurora, released her latest single “Bet on Me” featuring Adiel Mitchell last Friday at midnight, and it is described as “an empowering anthem encouraging listeners to bet on themselves and their communities in pursuit of their calling”.

“At its core, ‘Bet On Me’ is a story about faith, hope, and love,” says Jaiel. “It’s about taking risks, moving forward against all odds, and embracing the truth of who you are called to be. This song represents the inner revolution that is taking place in all of us.”

The choreography-heavy music video directed by Anika Kan Grevstad and produced by Lila Schmitz was filmed at Electric Pony Studios in Los Angeles with a majority women/BIPOC crew. The music video was choreographed by Natalie Schervish and executive produced by Doron Mitchell , Lauren Lukow, and Jaiel herself.

“These past few years have been some of the most difficult years of my life,” the singer revealed. “It really left me with the question of ‘What now?’ It left me with ‘Who do I become now? Who am I now?’ And now, feeling like I’m on the other side, what was once a question has now become a statement. I am now confident enough to declare and say this is who I am and I know what I’m here to do and I understand my purpose and I’m willing to bet on that.”

Previously being featured in a PBS documentary, her connection to community is a focal point of her music. Her music is described as “blending (of) pop, R&B, and soul genres” that “resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds, spreading messages of faith, community, acceptance, and empowerment”.

Jaiel played at FOCOMX in Fort Collins back in April and at the RnB Jam Fest in Denver earlier this month. With June packed with events, there is a lot to fit into.
