Anti-gay preacher gets hit with a baseball bat outside of a high school
Brother Dean Saxton, who lives in Glendale, Arizona, was hit with an aluminum baseball bat while he stood outside a school with the “you deserve rape” sign.
Saxton, who is known for spewing anti-queer ideology during his sermons outside Valley high schools and colleges denouncing homosexuality and holding signs telling women they deserve rape for not being true Christians, recorded an exhaustingly long video of him preaching his bigotry outside of Apollo High School in Glendale. In the video, he can be heard saying things like:
“The Bible says it’s not okay to be gay.”
“You need to stop looking up naughty, nasty things on the Internet.”
“You don’t know Jesus. You worship Satan. You worship your idols. Your worship false religions.”
“You’re going to hell. You’re going to burn in hell. You’re going to split hell wide open.”
As he makes the hate speech, various students and teachers approach him and denounce what he is saying, peacefully challenging him on his views. As he argues with one man, the sound of an aluminum bat can be heard making contact with Saxton’s skull followed by him running away from the crowd as blood drips from his head.
The attack came from Tabitha Brubaker, 19, who attends the high school. She is never seen in the video, but police arrested her for felony assault as well as marijuana possession. Several students and bystanders who witnessed the incident erupt in applause once they realized Saxton was struck in the head. Her bail was set at $10,000.
As for Saxton, he needed eight staples to close the gash on his head.
