AMC’s “The Walking Dead” Introduces First Gay Characters
For a brief minute there were rumors that bad-boy Darryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) would have a gay storyline on AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” but last week after all the rumors we were finally introduced to the first openly gay character, Aaron played by Ross Marquand.
Two weeks ago, Aaron popped up in the final moments of an episode, declaring he was a “friend” to Rick and the rest of the post-apocalyptic castaways. He apparently lives in the Alexandria safe zone, a pocket of civilization near Washington, D.C., but it wasn’t until this week when all the gayness was confirmed.
After a stressful battle with walkers, Aaron was reunited with his boyfriend, Eric played by Jordan Woods-Robinson, and the two shared a passionate kiss.
We knew deep down that the survivors of a post-apocalyptic world wouldn’t ALL be heterosexual. Now here’s hoping the two survive for a few seasons. “The Walking Dead” has a way of killing people off unexpectedly…
