All My Friends Are Dead to Star JoJo Siwa

Jo Jo Siwa

Upcoming horror film All My Friends Are Dead is set to start filming in Canada some time this spring. IMDb describes the plot as follows: “A group of college friends rent an Airbnb for the biggest music festival of the year. A weekend of partying quickly takes a turn, as the group is murdered one by one.”

Starring opposite Little Fires Everywhere star Jade Pettyjohn is JoJo Siwa, Dance Moms alumnus and singer of “Boomerang” and “Kid in a Candy Store.”

This announced role is clearly a departure from the neon pink and rainbow sets of her past self-titled shows, JoJo’s Livin’ the D.R.E.A.M., The JoJo and BowBow Show, and JoJo Goes, among many others. And she recognizes that difference.

In a statement for Deadline, she says, “This is a project that is so different from anything I’ve done previously; however, I absolutely love horror movies and can’t wait to start production. I’m also excited to work with Jade again. We worked together when we were younger and can’t wait to create this movie together.” In this, she is referring to their time on Nickelodeon together. They have shared screen time on School of Rock, of which Pettyjohn was a main character, done voice over work for Middle School Moguls for a handful of episodes each, and several other Nickelodeon one-offs, like the Ho Ho Holiday Special and Sizzling Summer Camp Special.

To reiterate, this is wildly different from any of JoJo Siwa’s previous projects, although Dance Moms certainly had its fair share of disturbing moments that would prepare her for a horror role.

Producer John Baldecchi is sure that Siwa is the right person for this role.He says in a statement, “We’re looking forward to JoJo giving us a compelling and dynamic performance that will be surprising for her audience, and everyone involved.”
