Alaska Same-Sex Marriages Begin

After the October 13th strike down of Alaska’s same-sex marriage ban, there was a temporary hold put in place by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in order to seek a longer lasting stay by the Supreme Court.
The temporary stay expired Friday at noon, and the Supreme Court denied the request for a longer stay, meaning Alaskan same-sex couples may begin marrying immediately.
There are now 31 states with marriage equality
