A famous TikTok designer has our hearts full after his response to a customer after they wanted to change an order for their friend. Marcus Pork amasses over 500,000 followers on his TikTok and is very well known for his artistic abilities through his hand-drawn t-shirt designs. Many of his t-shirt designs celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and also those with disabilities.
When it comes to his designs, Pork isn’t one to allow any exchanges or returns on his product. His sales are final. However, he graciously made an exception for one particular person.
A customer had ordered a t-shirt for their friend that said “Autistic Girl Summer.” However, their friend came out as nonbinary shortly after the product was requested, which gave them reason to reach out to Pork in hopes of being able to have the design changed. While the customer was aware that Pork had very strict policies on his products when it came to exchanges or returns, they thought they could give it a shot.
After Pork received the note, he responded acknowledging that he was strict on his policies, but had become soft when seeing the letter, declaring that it was an “emergency they/them situation.” He then notes that he is more than happy to exchange the shirt for a, improved design that aligned with the friend’s gender identity.
Stories about our community are not always negative and actually have moments of beauty in them where people are willing to provide service and launch us towards a bigger and better future.
The improved design was than changed to say “Autistic Camilla Summer,” Which is the name of the customer’s friend.
Pork is a true ally who always stands up for the queer community against those who hate and bully, and all with a sense of humor. He’s a true hero.
