A Suspect has Been Arrested in Connection to The Death of a Gay Journalist

Josh Kruger, age 39, was tragically killed by whom police suspect is 19 year old Robert Davis.

Kruger was fatally shot seven times by Davis earlier this month, who was on the run for over two weeks.

Davis had reportedly snuck into his family home in Southern Philadelphia asking his brothers for help. His older brother, Jaylin Reason, had reported that he was behaving erratically and possibly under the influence of drugs and alcohol. After getting into an altercation with his brother, Reason came to the realization that the best option would be to help Davis turn himself in to the police.

According to the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, Davis will be charged with the possession of instrument of crime, tampering of evidence, and other offenses relating to Kruger’s murder.

According to the family of Davis, Kruger had reportedly developed a relationship with Davis when he was 15, and Kruger was an adult. They also allege that the relationship was a sexual, drug-fueled relationship.

It is never okay to develop relationships with minors, especially those that involve drugs or sex. These actions can be super harmful to a person and push a harmful narrative on our community that we are groomers and have ill intentions, when in reality, we do not. It is important to note that these accusations are alleged, but if proven true, this behavior is beyond reprehensible.

Even if these accusations prove to be false, it is never okay to take the life of a person, much less run away from it, leaving their loved ones in the cold air of grief. Our community is under so much scrutiny from both politicians and hate groups that this would devastate our community further.

Our condolences go out to both families, as they are the ones dealing with the events that  lead to this tragedy.
