A Celebration Above the City: The Cimera Pride Drag Brunch Brings Community Together

Alissha RBy Alissha RJuly 6, 20264 Mins Read

High above the streets of Denver, music, laughter, and applause filled Cimera’s rooftop as guests gathered to celebrate Pride over brunch.

While Pride Month is often filled with large festivals and parades, some of its most memorable celebrations happen around a shared table. At Cimera’s Pride Drag Brunch, vibrant performances, handcrafted cocktails, and award-winning Pan-Latin cuisine came together to create an afternoon that celebrated Pride through community.

Held on Saturday, June 27, at Cimera Rooftop Restaurant in Denver’s RiNo neighborhood, the free Pride Drag Brunch welcomed guests for an afternoon hosted by Freya Misdemeanor, featuring drag performances, Pride-inspired cocktails, and award-winning Pan-Latin cuisine.

Throughout the afternoon, drag performers moved effortlessly through the restaurant, transforming the dining room into their stage. Rather than performing from a distance, they interacted with guests table by table, encouraging cheers, laughter, and plenty of applause as DJ Kenny D kept the energy flowing between performances.

The performances didn’t stay in one place or one look. From dazzling appearances weaving through the dining room to a striking pink ensemble stepping onto the rooftop patio, Cimera itself became part of the show. Framed by sweeping views of downtown Denver and the Rocky Mountains, every corner of the restaurant transformed into a stage.

From vibrant pink to shimmering black, each new look brought another burst of energy to the room. Silhouetted against Denver’s skyline and the Rocky Mountains, the performers transformed Cimera’s rooftop into an unforgettable stage as cheers echoed throughout the venue. It became clear the restaurant wasn’t simply hosting brunch; it was creating an experience that blended drag, music, handcrafted cocktails, and award-winning Pan-Latin cuisine into a celebration of community, creativity, and inclusion.

Guests who missed this Pride edition won’t have to wait until next year. Cimera’s Drag Brunch returns on the last Saturday of every month from 12–2 p.m., featuring Felony Misdemeanor, DJ Kenny D, a rotating cast of performers, and a new theme each month. Continues to build a recurring space where guests can celebrate through music, performance, and food.

The celebration extended well beyond the performances. Cimera’s Pride-inspired cocktail menu featured colorful creations like the Blue Ballin’, while bartenders carefully crafted each drink behind the bar. Together, the specialty cocktails added another layer of flavor and fun to an already unforgettable afternoon.

While the drag brunch may have been the day’s main attraction, there are plenty of reasons to linger after the final performance. Guests can continue enjoying Cimera’s rooftop atmosphere well into the evening, sipping handcrafted cocktails as the restaurant transitions into its dinner service. With sweeping views of the Denver skyline, it’s an easy place to settle in, catch up with friends, and enjoy the sunset from one of RiNo’s highest rooftops.

While the Pride Drag Brunch brought guests together for an afternoon of entertainment, Cimera’s rooftop invites visitors to linger long after the final performance. Whether enjoying another handcrafted cocktail, sharing dinner with friends, or taking in the city views, the restaurant offers an experience that extends well beyond brunch.

One drink worth ordering is the Strawberry Fields, a refreshing blend of Still Austin Straight Bourbon, Aperol, ginger liqueur, lemon, and strawberry syrup. Featured on the Pride cocktail menu and currently available on Cimera’s regular menu, it gives guests another chance to enjoy it even after Pride Weekend. Cimera also plans to introduce additional specialty cocktails throughout the year to keep the menu fresh.

The dinner menu offers just as much to look forward to. The Papa Rellena delivered a crispy exterior with a rich, savory filling, while the Peruvian Coal-Fired Chicken Teriyaki Skewers balanced smoky flavors with a refreshing slaw. Dessert provided the perfect grand finale. The Picarones, made with sweet potato and squash, were surprisingly light and flavorful, while the silky Panna Cotta easily became the standout dish, one worth returning for.

Beyond the performances, Pride-inspired cocktails, and award-winning Pan-Latin cuisine, the afternoon highlighted something just as meaningful. Events like this create opportunities for people to discover something they may not have otherwise experienced while bringing the community together through food, entertainment, and conversation.

Whether guests arrived specifically for the Drag Brunch or simply found themselves part of the celebration, Cimera’s rooftop became a welcoming space where everyone could share in the experience. With a new theme planned each month, Cimera’s Drag Brunch is quickly becoming more than a Pride celebration; it’s becoming a recurring tradition. Look for more details on upcoming themes and events on Cimera’s website and social media channels closer to the end of each month.
