One Colorado, the state’s leading advocacy organization dedicated to advancing equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) Coloradans and their families, will be having their annual LGBT Lobby Day on Feb. 29, 2016. (That’s Monday!)
The event will begin at 8:30am at Central Presbyterian Church (1660 Sherman St.) and is free and open to everyone. Over 200 supporters will have the opportunity to talk to their senators and representatives about critical LGBT issues, including a ban on conversion therapy for minors in Colorado and to a bill that will make it less burdensome for transgender Coloradans to update the gender on their birth certificate.
“The only way we can shape the future of equality in Colorado is by making sure our elected representatives hear from us,” Executive Director Dave Montez said. “LGBT Lobby Day is a great opportunity for participants to learn more about what issues impact LGBT Coloradans, as well as a chance for them to tell their stories.”
One Colorado encourages all to sign up. If you’re interested, information and registration can be found right here. For additional information please don’t hesitate to contact One Colorado Field Coordinator Garrett Royer at garrettr@one-colorado.org or by phone at 303-396-6170.
